Vanity Fair, Glamour begin purging editorial staffs

The new editor-in-chief of Vanity Fair, Radhika Jones, and the new editor-in-chief of Glamour, Samantha Barry, took the ax to staffers left over from their predece🅰ssors on Thursday.

Among the VF people who were pink-slipped were Managing Editor Chris Garrett, deputy﷽ e🎃ditors Aimee Bell and Dana Brown, Editor-at-Large Cullen Murphy and Features Editor Jane Sarkin.

Researchers and assistants further down the masthead were also being cut in what one i🎀nsider described as a bloodbath that could reach up to💫 20 people.

Also gone was f💫ormer top edito💙r Graydon Carter’s long-serving executive director of communications, Beth Kseniak.

At Glaꦕmour, the cuts were less severe — only about five by mid-afternoon Thursday, but other changes were🥀 underway over the past week involving some of former EIC Cindi Leive’s top masthead people.

Creative director Paul Ritter was replaced by Nathalie Kirsheh, who was most recently consulting at DuJour. The model-booker Richard Blandino is also gone. Both technically reported to Raul Martinez, parent company Condé Nast’s corporate creative director, but did most of their work for Glamour, sources said.

“Vanity Fair and Glamour are taking the fir🐠st steps in reshaping their teams to reflect the new editorial directions of the brands — with new additions and initiatives to be announced shortly,” a spokeswoman for Condé Nast confirmed.

“The priority for each is to create quality and prov♛ocative content across all platforms💃 equally, embracing the next-generation of readers and viewers.”
