The street in front of the Queens station house where rookie cop Eddie Byrne worked before he was slain was named in his honor Monday.
āThis is a moment to remember,āā Mayor de Blasio said outside the 103rd Precinct station house at 91st Avź§enue ā now Police Officer Edward Byrne Avenue ā and 168th Street.
Byrne, 22, was shot on Feb. 26, 1988, while guarding a witness in a drug trial.
