‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ makes list of America’s most-loved books

The “” erotic romance novel series by E.L. James made a PBS list🍷 of — alongside acclaimed literary masterpieces like “” and “” and “.”

The wide-ranging fiction book list, which includes tomes from as far back as the 1600s to as recent as 2016, was compiled as p🦂💙art of PBS’ eight-part series called “The Great American Read.”

“It investigates how🥂 and why writers create their fictional worlds, how we as readers are affected by these stories, and what these 100 different books have to say about our diverse nation and our shared human experience,” PBS says on its website.

PBS worked with the public opinion polling service YouGov to conduct the survey asking Americans to name t๊heir most-loved novel. About 7,200 people participated.

Other books that made the list include: “” by Paulo Coelho, the “” series by George R.R. Mart🍌in, “” by E.B. White, “” by Joseph Heller, “” by Lewis Carroll, James Patterson’s♛ “” series, “” by F. Scott Fitzgerald and J.K. Rowling’s series.

The finaleꦏ of “The Great American Read” series will include the results of a nationwide vote to choose “America’s best-loved book,” which will be revealed on Oct. 23.
