HBO’s brainy robot Western “Westworld” is a confusing show, and⛦ the Seas𝐆on 2 finale throws some mind-blowing curveballs.
Here’s the breakdown of the most essential twists.

After Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) is killed, she’s able to put her consciousness in Charlotte (Tessa Thompson). So going forward into Season 3 — which has been greenlit but doesn’t yet have a premiere date — Dolores will be played by Tessa Thompson.
That doesn’t mean Wood is off the show — “Westworld” loves its dual timelines. But get ready to adjust to Dolores’ fresh new look.
Meanwhile, the seemingly innocuous security guard, Stubbs (Luke Hemsworth), reve𝐆aled that he’s secretly be♊en a host all along. Season 1 pulled the same trickery with Bernard (Jeffrey Wright).
Finally, in a mind-boggling post-credits scene, William (Ed Harris) is revealed to be in the process of the same experiment that James Delos (Pet🦹er Mullan) was shown partaking in earlier on in the season.
In Season 2’s fourth episode, “Westworld” revealed that park-owner Delos had died, in a sense: A digital copy of his mind was being placed into host versions of his body. If it worked, this would make him immortal. A younger William oversaw those experiments.
Delos’ attempt ultimately failed, but it seems William hasn’t given up hope: In the post-credits scene, he is the new experiment subject, and the scientist testing him is his daughter Emily (Katja Herbers). Prior to this episode, she was last seen being murdered by, uh, William.
So to recap: Charlotte is now Dolores, Stubbs is secretly a host, Emily might be really alive (unless that post-credits scene was not real) and the diabolical William might liv🔴e forever.
Ah, “Westworld.” Such a simple show.
