That didn’t last long.
JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon picked a fight with Pres🎶ident T🍌rump and then backed off just hours later.
“I think I could beat Trump” Dimon said Wednesday morning during an event at the company’s Park Avenue building. “Because I’m as tough as he is, I’m smarter than he is. I would be fine. He could punch me all he wants, it wouldn’t work with me. I’d fight right back.”
He also taunted his fellow New Yorker’s success.
“And by the way, this wealthy New Yorker actually earned his money,” he said. “It wasn’t a gift from Daddy.”
By noon, it was over.
“I should not have said it. I’m not running for president. Proves I wouldn’t make a good politician,” the Wall Street executive said in a statement. “I get frustrated because I want all sides to come together to help solve big problems.”
Dimon, 62, was among the group of executives of the now-disbanded🍸 Trump business advisory panel who criticized the president for his remarks after a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va., ended with the death of a young woman.
Trump blamed the “hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides.”
Dimon has also been critical of the president’s stands on immigration and trade.
In his initial comments, Dimon lamented the chances a wealthy banker would have against a liberal Democratic 🌸candidate.
“I can’t beat the liberal side of the Democratic Party,” he said.
