J.R. Smith takes Kyrie Irving-to-Knicks chances to ‘high’ level

Knicks fans will be hoping J.R. Smith wasn’t “high” when he made this comment.

“Kyrie Irving is the Knicks’ top target in 2019. What are the chances they sign him?”

The Cavaliers guard responded: “HIGH.”

Irving had the Knicks on a short list of teams he wanted the Cavaliers to trade him to two seasons ago before ultimately being dealt to the Celtics. Though the Knicks did not have the assets to land Irving then, the star point guard will have his choice of teams next offseason when he hits free agency, and there has been rumored mutual interest between him and the Knicks.

Smith, who was suspendedꦓ five games when on the Knicks in 2013 for testing positive for marijuana, was t🃏eammates with Irving for two and a half seasons in♈ Cleveland.
