The dangerous, thick smog that has settled over portions of California will con🦩tinue to choke the state at least until the end of the w✨eek, officials said.
“We’re expecting unhealthy air quality through Friday at the very least,” Kristine Roselius, spokeswoman for the Bay Area Air Quality Management District .
The pollution from the smoky, congest🍸ed air can affect people living as many as a hundred miles from the🤡 blazes raging at both ends of the state.
In northern Califor🔜nia, officials are urging residents to stay inside with the doors closed and the windows shut.
“It’s impacting everyone,” Roselius said. “I’m hearing from a lot of healthy people with watery itchy eyes, a sore throat and a cough.”
Much of the pollution levels in the Bay Area have been rated between 150 and 200 on the Air Quality Index since Friday. Those levels are classified as “unhealthy” and serious enough that even healthy people will be affected — experiencing congestion, headaches and fatigue.
Some people have taken to wearing masks when they venture outdoors.
