Syracuse doesn’t know how to spell Boeheim

Syracuse would like to buy a vowel — specifically, that first “e” in “Boeheim.”

As if the No. 15 ranked Orange’s 83-76 loss to UConn on Thursday night at Madison Square Garden weren’t bad enough, the last name of Buddy Boeheim — son of legendary coach Jim Boeheim — was misspelled “Boheim” on the back of his jersey.

Hard to believe someone would get it wrong, with Jim Boeheim being in his 43rd seaęĻ𒆙son coaching at Syracuse, after playing there as well.

Playing his first game for the Orange at the Garden, Buddy Boeheim scored just one point in six minutes and missed his only shot,đŸĻš a 3-pointer.

The jersey mistake was part of what’꧑s been a frustrating season. In Syracuse’s first two games, the 6-foot-5 guard averaged 26 minutes, shot just 2-of-18 from the field and made 1 of 10 3-pointers, while averaging 3.0 points, 3.5 rebounds anęĻœd 2.5 assists.

“He’s a good player, but he’s like all freshmen, it takes you a while to geęĻ‘t used to college basketball,” Jim Boeheim said earlier this week. “It’s been good that he’s getting shots. Sometimes as a shooter, it’s hard to figure out where your shots are. H🙈e’s finding shots, he just hasn’t made them. He made them through the exhibitions, and throughout practices. He’s just got to keep getting those shots. He’s a good shooter. And he’ll make them.”

Then maybe they’ll remember how to spell his name.
