Record-setting ‘Monday Night Football’ game gives ESPN best rating since 2014
The only NFL game in history🌳 where both teams scored more than 50 points delivered the best “Monday Night Football” rating since 2014.
The 54-51 hometown win by🧔 the Jared Goff-quarterbacked Los Angeles Rams over the Kansas City Chiefs earned an overnight rating of 11.3 — up 57 percent from the comparable game a year ago, according to Nielsen.
Its combined score of 105 points also marked the highest-scoring g🦋ame in “MNF’s” 49-🔴year history.
Not surprisingly, given the tiꦆght score and fans’ fondness for touchdowns,🐎 the ESPN broadcast peaked with a 12.5 rating around midnight EST.
That’s when⛎ Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes came just short of a fourth-quarter TD.
