Five people were shot outside a Queens nightclub early Saturday, cops said.
The group was leaving Rose Lounge on 130th Street near 90th Avenue in Richmond Hill around 3:45 a.m. when gunfire rang out, police said.
Four women were hurt — a 27-year-old shot in the chest and hip, a 25-year-old struck in the right foot, a 24-year-old woman hit in the left hip and a 23-year-woman shot in the buttocks, police sources said. A 35-year-old man was also shot in the leg.
All five sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Three were taken to Jamaica Hospital and two went to New York Presbyterian-Queens.
There is often trouble at the club, neighbors said.
“Every week it’s a problem. No good. We are sleeping here, my husband, my son. I’m scared,” said Tamilda Delgado, 61, who heard seven shots and people screaming.
Geath Asad, 29, a salesman who lives across the street from Rose Lounge with his wife, 3-year-old twins, and a 5-month-old baby, agreed, noting drunk clubgoers often relieve themselves on his stoop and that his terrified kids hear all the ruckus.
“We always hear fighting, the occasional shooting. We used to call the police, they come they make their sirens, five minutes later everyone runs away. … They close them down, they revoke their license, three months later, they’re open again. I wake up to cigarette butts, liquor bottles,” he said.
The shooting may have been sparked by a fight between two or three men outside the club, Assistant Chief David Barrere, the Commanding Officer of Patrol Borough Queens South, said during a Saturday morning news conference.
It wasn’t clear whether the women were innocent bystanders or somehow involved in the scuffle. No arrests had been made Saturday morning.
Back in April, two brothers were shot outside the same nightclub after a fight broke out inside and spilled onto the street. Soon after that incident, the club’s liquor license was suspended for six months, Barrere said.
But in mid-October, it re-opened under new ownership, he said.
Cops do not believe the two shootings are connected.
