Meghan McCain mourns her father on Christmas Eve

Meghan McCain gave solace to those mourning the loss of a loved𝓰 one as she spends her first Christmas grieving her father, Sen. John McCain, who died last year.

“I love you. Merry Christmas Dad, ⁦@SenJohnMcCain⁩ – wherever you are,” Christmas Eve in memory of her father who died in August after battling brain cancer at the age of 81.

The posting included a ph♔oto of the longtime Arizona Republican standing in front a grill wearing a plaid flannel shirt and a hat.

McCain, who is a host of ABC’s “The View,” also on Christmas Day of her father dressed in a blazer and casual khaki pants sitting on a bench.

And when somebody chided her for the Twitter tribute to her father, suggesting she “Do this in private,” McCain defended herself and others’ right to mourn in public.

“If there’s one thing I’m doing in 2019 it’s to continue to destigmatize talking about grief, death and cancer. My father shared his life in public, I share it in death. To all of you out there missing a loved one tonight – you are not alone. I’m along side you, sending strength,” she wrote.
