The best holiday movies to watch on Christmas Day

It’s Christmas Day — and, if you haven’t ဣhad your fill of holiday programming by now, you can still play catch up while you’re opening presents, programming your newest iPhone and setting the table for dinner.

There’s something for everyone in this lineup.

“Jack Frost”

9:15 a.m., AMC
The winter sprite falls in love and yearns to become human🔯 in this musical tale featuring the voices of Buddy Hackett, Robert Morse, Larry Storch and Dღave Garroway.

“A Christmas Story”

11 a.m. to 9 p.m., TNT
Adapted from Jean Shepherd’s short stories, the 1983 vignette-style film journeys back to the Christmas when then-nine-year-old Ralphie Parker (Peter Billingsley) wanted nothing more than a grand new Red Ryder BB gun to show up under the tree, despite some alarming protests from certain adults in his life. “You’ll shoot your eye out!” It’s TNT’s annua🍌l marathon airing of this chestnut.

“A Bad Mom’s Christmas”

11:45 a.m., Showtime
Three overstressed mothers (Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn and Mila Kunis) are alarmed when their own troublem⛎aking moms (Christine Baranski, Cheryl Hines, Susan Sarandon) visit during the Christmas holiday. Soon, the gal pals once again band tog🔯ether for drinking and general debauchery in order to blow off some steam.

“A Christmas Carol”

3 p.m., FXM
If you only watch one version of “A Christmas Carol,” it should be this one. Alistair Sim is Ebenezer Scrooge, a London miser who, despite his wealth, refuses to m🎀ake charitable contributions and treats his sole employee, Bob Cratchit, as an indentured servant. On Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by the ghost of his selfish business partner, Jacob Marley, and t✅hen by three more spirits that same night, an experience that forever changes his life.

“Elf”

After inadvertently wreaking havoc on the elf community due to hisꦰ ungainly size, a man (Will Ferrell) raised as an elf at the North Pole is sent to the US in search of his true identity. With James Caan and Bob Newhart.

“Tyler Perry’s A Madea Christmas”

6 p.m., USA
Madea (Tyler Perry) agrees to spend Christmas in a small rural town in order to visit a friend’s daughter. In time, the no-nonsense ꦜmatriarch has a huge impact on the community as they prepare⛄ for an annual holiday carnival.

“National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”

7:30 p.m., AMC
A family hosts their relatives for the holiday as the dad (Chevy Chase) contends with spontaneously combust𝕴ing Christmas lights and temperamental trees while anticipating the arrival of his✅ annual bonus. With Beverly D’Angelo.

“How the Grinch Stole Christmas”

8 p.m., NBC
Forget the Jim Carrey remake. Boris Karloff narrates this 1966 Dr. Seuss cla🍒ssic about the Whos, creatures who like nothing better than Christmas, and the evil Grinch, who plans to steal the holiday.

“Love Actually”

9 p.m., TNT
Set in London, this romantic comedy chronicles the affairs of several couples during the Christmas holidays. The seemingly perfect wedding of Juliet (Keira Knightley) and Peter (Chiwetel Ejiofor)𝕴 brings many of the principals together,🌄 including heartsick best man Mark (Andrew Lincoln), who harbors a crush on Juliet. There’s also recent widower Daniel (Liam Neeson) trying to help his lonely stepson Sam express his true feelings to a classmate. Across town, devoted working mother Karen (Emma Thompson) tries to rekindle the passion of her husband.
