It wouldn’t be New Year’s Day without a “Twilight Zone” extravaganza. Highlights include, at 8 p.m., “The Invaders,” which stars Agnes Moorhead as a rural woman who battles to repel two creatur🍷es from another planet. 𝔍At 9 p.m., “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet” stars William Shatner as a salesman recovering from a breakdown — until he sees a creature on the wing of his plane.
“Batman” Marathon | 7 a.m.- 6 p.m., IFC
The incredibly silly, campy 1960s series is on a roll today, starring the late Adam West in the title role and Burt Ward as sidekick Robin. This show was all about the guest stars, many of whom gave landmark performa🌸nces, includꦑing Cesar Romero as The Joker, Julie Newmar as Catwoman and Frank Gorshin as The Riddler.
“Doctor Who” Marathon | 8:25 a.m.- 8 p.m., BBC America
Diehard fans of the British series will have a field day with this retrospective, which culminates in a new original episode at 8 p.🔜m. with Jodie Whittaker as the show’s first female lead.
Tournament of Roses Parade | 11 a.m., NBC and ABC
The Pasadena festival of flowers injects some rhythm into the proceedings as Grand Marshal Chaka Khan rides a float down Cℱolorado Avenue with floats that are covered with petals, leaves, seeds or bits of bark. In addition to the floats, there are equestri൲an units and marching bands.
“Game of Thrones” Marathon | 12 p.m.- 9:25 p.m., HBO2
The entire🐻 sixth season of the crowd-pleaser is o𒁏n hand, kicking off with Jaime’s (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) return from Dorne with bad news for Cersei (Lena Headey) and concluding with Jon (Kit Harington) discussing his future at Winterfell with Sansa (Sophie Turner).
The Citrus Bowl | 1 p.m., ABC
Kentucky (9-3) vs. Penn State (9-3). From Camping World Stadium in Orlando. James Franklin’s Nittany Lions are 3-0 since a 42-7 loss to Michigan. Mark Stoops’ Wildcats go for their ꦐfirst 10-win season since 1977 and their first bowl win in 10 years.
The Fiesta Bowl | 1 p.m., ESPN
LSU (9-3) vs. UCF (12-0). From State Farm Stadium in Glendale. Riding a 25-game win streak, the Knights bid♒ for a second straight bowl win over an SEC ꦛfoe.
The Rose Bowl | 5 p.m., ESPN
Washington (10-3) vs. Ohio State (12-1) in Pasadena, Cal. Conference cha⛎mps collide as Pac-12 winner Washington faces the Big Ten-champ Buckeyes, who look to send off Urban Meyer with his first Rose Bowl win.
The Sugar Bowl | 8:45 p.m., ESPN
Texas (9-4) vs. Georgia (11-2). From Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. Texas has a 𝕴4-3 non-conference mark under Tom Herman, while Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs are on a 9-0 run against non-SEC teams. Georgia won the last meeting in the 1984 Cotton Bowl.
