There are few beauty quests more formidable than finding the perfect red lipstick.
But Maybelline promises they’ve concocted a universal shade of scarlet, created as part of their new “Made 💯for All” collection, called

“It’s all about having the right mixture of pigment,” wh🌞en it comes to concocting the perfect shade, says Jon 🌃Sáenz, VP of Global Maybelline Marketing in the Lip Category. “For example, the most universally flattering red must have the perfect balance of yellow and blue. Using our specialist team of color chemists we know the specific mix of pigments needed for each shade to work on every skin-tone.“
After formulating some test tubes — the Maybelline team put it𝓡s creation to work.
“We carefully selected 50 real 𓆏women with uniquely different skin-tone,” says Sáenz. “We then obsessively tested each shade we crafted on each woman using professional makeup artists to assess if they complement their skin-tone.”
But the color got the ultimate road test at🍸 New York Fashion Week in Septe🙈mber.
Maybelline’s lead makeup artist, Grace Lee, used the product on more than 50 models — including Candice Huffine and Winnie Harlow, who has vitiligo — at the Cushnie runway show.
“I swear it’s like witchcraft cuz it really does look incredible🔴 on every skin tonꦇe,” Lee .
