Sleeping straphanger stabbed in head with screwdriver: cops

A snoozing straphanger woke up to a nightmare aboard a Brooklyn subway train this week when a stranger stabbed him in the head with a screwdriver, then robbed him, police said Friday.

The 29-year-old was in dreamland on a northbound 2 train as it neared the Beverly Road station around 2 p.m. Thursday when the man approached and jabbed him in the head with the tool.

The attacker then stole $300 from him before rushing off the subway, cops said.

The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.

Police on Friday released video of the attacker as he left the train station. Authorities described him as approximately 30 to 35 years old, 5 feet 10 and about 200 pounds.
