The deaths of two Saudi-born sisters discovered bound in duct tape along the banks of the Hu🌺dson River have been ruled suicides, offi꧅cials said Tuesday.
Rotana Farea, 22, and her sister Tala Farea, 16, drowned in the river after they bound each other together and leaped off the George Washington Bridge on Oct. 24, according to the city Medical Examiner’s Office.
“Today, my office determined that the death of the Farea🍌 sisters was the result of suicide, in which the young women⛎ bound themselves together before descending into the Hudson River,” Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Barbara Sampson said in a statement.
The sisters, who had been missing from their Farifax, Virginia, home since 2017, were found beached off the shore of Riverside Park nꦿear West 68th Street, bound together at the waist.
Their mother said Rotana and Tala had applied for asylum in the US, which had put the family’s residency status in jeopardy, sources told The Post.
During their last days, the sisters sp﷽ent time at various Manhattan hotels before committing suicide.
