Oscar 2019: Full list of nominees, surprises, snubs

Hollywood’s award season gold rush reaches full gallop Tuesday with the announcement of nominations for the 91st annual Academy Awards.

Dark horse “Bohemian Rhapsody” stampeded its way to a Best Picture nomination alongside critical darlings and “Roma.”

finally lassoed his first Best Director nod for “BlacKkKlansman.”

And yes, Lady Gaga and Glenn Close&nb🎶sp;will indeed duel it out in the Best Actress race.

A big surprise: Willem Dafoe scored a Best Actor nomination for his turn as Vincent Van Gogh in the little-seen “At Eternity’s Gate,” possibly shutting out newcomer John David Washington of “BlacKkKlansman” and veteran for “First Reformed.”

One notable snub: Bradley Cooper, considered a shoo-in for Best Director, failed to garner a nod for helming “A Star Is Born.” Oh well, his nominations for Best Actor, Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay will surely suffice.

In “It’s about time” news, longtime supporting players both scored first Oscar nominations for their stellar work in “If Beale Street Could Talk” and “A Star Is Born,” respectively.
