MGM closes on $850M purchase of Empire City Casino

ALBANY, N.Y. — MGM R😼esorts has closed on its $850 million purchase of Empire City Caꦛsino and Yonkers Raceway.
the deal was finalized Tuesday after the state Gaming C🃏ommission approved the transfer of gaming and horse racing licenses from the Rooney family to MGM.
The Rooney family had owned the race track sin🃏♚ce 1972.
MGM announced the purchase agreem🍰en𒊎t last May. It hasn’t yet detailed its plans to develop the 97-acre property, which currently has 5,200 video-lottery terminals.
