Trump rips Ocasio-Cortez, says Dems are ‘petrified’ of her

President Trump took aim at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Tuesday, telling a crowd of GOP lawmakers that Democrats appear to be “petrified” of the progressive “young bartender.”

Trump jeered at the freshman congresswoman in his speech at the National Republican Congressional Committee’s annual spring dinner, .

“You have senators who are professionals that you guys know that have been there for a long time, white hair, everything perfect, and they’re standing behind her and they’re shaking, they’re petrified of her,” the president said in Washington.

He also mocked Ocasio-Cortez over her Green New Deal to combat climate change, which was shot down in the Senate last week.

“The Green New Deal, done by a young bartender, 29 years old,” Trump said, referring to the Bronx Democrat’s job prior to her election to office. “A young bartender, wonderful young woman.”

Trump warned Republicans not to fight too hard against the Green𒁏 New Deal, saying the party could use it to iܫts advantage in 2020.

“I’m only afraid that we’re going to be too hard on the Green New Deal and they’re not going to do it because I want them to do it,” he explained. “We don’t want to have them knock it out before we run against it, so let’s take it easy.”
