A Florida man was bitten by his Jaguar.
Theodore Levy, 81, lost his right thumb after it was caught in the door of his $96,000 vehicle, which includes a “soft clos🥀e” feature with a history of problems, according to a lawsuit.
Levy was in a restaurant parking lot in Aꦡpril 2017 when the fancy feature automatically activated, trapping his hand.
The “soft c𒅌lose” door feature has also injured BMW drivers.
Levy watched in👍 horror as the door “pulverized the bone structure” in his digit, and left his thumb “a shadow of what it used to ꦓbe,” according to the New Jersey Federal Court lawsuit against the car company.
The company faiꦜled to include a sensor to d🐽etect when an object was in the way of the door, Levy gripes in the legal papers.
The flawed “soft close” feature turns th🍨e car into a “g𒐪uillotine.”
Ja♓guar said it had not seen the lawsuit, and could not comment.
