Brother of Barbara Corcoran died in Dominican Republic hotel

The brother of real estate maven Barbara Corcoran was found dead in his Dominican Republic hotel room under the same mysterious circumstances as a number of other US tourists, the “Shark Tank” star has revealed.

Corcoran, 70, on Tuesday that her brother John, 60, was on vacation in April with a friend when he reportedly died suddenly of a heart attack.

His death shares disturbing similarities to six other American tourists who have all passed away under mysterious circumstances on the island in the past year.

The famous investor said her brother’s friend discovered his body in their suite, but nobody knows exactly what happened.

Corcoran said no autopsy has been done on her brother but she was told he suffered a heart attack.

It’s unclear if John, the owner of a roofing company in New Jersey, died at one of the same hotels where the six others were found dead.

His death comes amid a troubling spate of incidents in which otherwise healthy tourists have died or suffered heart attacks, many after drinking from the minibars in their Dominican Republic resort hotel rooms.

California man Robert Bill Wallace, 67, also died in April while staying at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Punta Cana.

No cause of death has been released, but Wallace’s niece told Fox News he became ill after drinking scotch from his hotel minibar.

Miranda Schaup-Werner, 41, of Pennsylvania, collapsed and died in her room on May 25 after having a drink from her minibar at the luxury Bahia Principe Bouganville in La Romana, 70 miles west of Punta Cana.

Five days later, Edward Holmes, 63, and Cynthia Day, 49, were found dead in their room at the neighboring Grand Bahia Principe resort.

Dominican Republic authorities insist the deaths are isolated incidents and on Wednesday hired crisis management specialists to combat bad publicity about the mysterious deaths and the shooting of David Ortiz.
