President Trump dismissed the Democrats who exposed often-squalid conditions at detention facilities for illegal immigrants on the southern border as âJust Poð§lsâ â and said the best way to fix the humanitarian crisis was to tell the migrants to stay home.
âOur Boðrder Patrol people are not hospital workers, doctors or nurses. The Democrats bad Immigration Laws, which could be easily fixed, are the problem. Great job by Border Patrol, above and beyond,â Trump , a day after the Department of Homeland Securityâs inspector general criticized the conditions at the border facilities.
The president said that many ofę§ the migrants, mostly Central American families seeking asylum in the US, havðe it better in detention now than they did back home.
âMany of these illegals aliens are living faðr better now than where they came from, and in far safer conditions. No matter how good things actually look, even if perfect, the Democrat visitors will act shocked & aghast at how terrible things are. Just Pols. If they really want to fix them, change the Immigration Laws and Loopholes. So easy to do!â he continued.
He said the best way to stop the surge of migrants overwhelming border facilities and personnelę§ was to tell them to jï·―ust stay home.
âNow, if you really want to fix the Crisis at the âSouthern Border, both humanitarian and otherwise, tell migrants not to come into our country unless they are willing to do so legally, and hopefully through a system based on Merit. This way we havę§e no problems at all!â he tweeted.
Democratic lawmakers, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, described the facilities as âconcentration camps.â
