Hangry mob storms Popeyes after they run out of chicken sandwiches

A group of hangry people — one with a gun — stormed a Texas Popeyes when they learned the chicken sandwiches were sold out, according to a new report.

Two women and three men stopped at the drive-thru for one of the chain’s Houston locations Monday night in hopes of chowing down on the sandwiches, .

When employees told them the new, wildly popular menu item was sold out, they tried to force their way inside, according to the report.

Meanwhile, they left a baby in their black SUV, the station reported.

A restaurant worker locked them out — and the mob ultimately left with their stomachs empty, according to the report.

Popeyes officially released the chicken sandwich on Aug. 12, calling it the chain’s biggest launch in about three decades.

But by last week, Popeyes tweeted that the sandwiches were already sold out.

“Y’all. We love that you love The Sandwich,” the Tuesday tweet said. “Unfortunately we’re sold out (for now).”

The Texas mob wasn’t the first to make headlines with their reaction to the news.
