Alabama school removes bathroom stall doors to stop students from vaping

Privacy, schmivacy.

An Alabama high school has co▨me up with an interestওing way to stop students from vaping on campus — by taking the doors off the bathroom stalls.

“Me, as a parent, personally, I think that’s a little excessive,” said Flore꧙nce dad Brandon Campbell with WAFF.

“I don’t like it,” added Rachel Munsey, another local parent. “They take their only private place in the school that they can do their business.”

Administrators at Wilson High School in northern Alabama say ki🎃ds have been sneaking into the lavatories to get their head change — with some smoking and others vap♊ing.

Principal Gary Horton told WAFF that he recently found a male student passed out in the boys’ bathroom after vaping too much. As a result, he decided to take off some of the stall doors in the bathroom to stop people from secretly toking away.

A number of parents came forward over the weekend and voiced their concerns, saying it was an invasion of privacy. Several questioned why it was the boys’ bathroom and not all the bathrooms that got singled out.

“Bad vaping problem, then you need spotters in the bathroom,” Munsey suggested. “You need someone adult to go in there to make sure there’s not any vaping going on.”

Campbell agreed, saying: “Maybe they need to put a monitor in the hall, like they do. Usually they have a truancy officer or a police officer at the school. Have them monitor the hallway because a bathroom is for each individual person’s privacy.”

Horton told WAFF that ⛄the doors would be going back on at some point in the future, but not until administrators find a solution for the vaping.
