Trump gets boos, ‘Lock him up’ chant at World Series Game 5

President Trump was greeted with a Bronx cheer at the World Series in Washington, DC, on Sunday night, as the crowd booed the commander-in-chief and some chanted, “Lock him up.”

Trump was in the crowd for Game 5 of the series between the Nationals and Astros when he appeared on the stadium’s Jumbotron after the third inning during the Nationals’ salute to veterans.

As the camera ൩panned from the men꧃ in uniform to Trump, the crowd turned from cheering to large sustained boos.

A section of the crowd also broke out in a “Lock him up” chant — an homage to Trump’s infamous 2016 campaign mantra about Hillary Clinton, “Lock her up.”

According to MLB commissioner Rob Manfred, Trump decided not to throw out the ceremonial first pitch “in order to make the fan experience as positive as possible.”

Trump and wife Melania ꦑsat in the Washington Suite along with GOP politicians including Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Reps. Steve Scalise of Louisiana, Mark Meadows of North Carolina, Liz Cheney of Wyoming and Matt Gaetz of Florida.
