Michael Cohen accuses prosecutors of ‘character assassination’

Manhattan federal prosecutors have unleashed a “character assassination” campaign to stymie Michael Cohen’s attempt at early release, President Trump’s disgraced fixer writes in new court papers filed Friday.

The ex-lawyer, who wants to be released after just a year behind bars, accused prosecutors of “using innuendo, conjecture, and inaccurate opinions as a basis for urging the Court’s denial of the pending motion,” and blasted the The Manhattan US Attorney’s Office for “stubbornly” refusing to acknowledge his 170 hours of cooperation with some nine government agencies.

Prosecutors previously told judge William Pauley that Cohen was a liar and incredible witness who deserved to finish out his three year sentence. The 53-year-old pleaded guilty in 2018 to campaig🎃n finance violations and lying to Congre꧅ss.

In response, Cohen Friday accused the office of operating under a “one and done” policy he likened to “collegiate sports.”

Trump’s onetime personal attorney then when on to accuse prosecutors of collusion with the current administration for calling him unreliable.

“It is useful to consider others who have targeted Affirmant in this manner,” Cohen wrote, referring to himself. “Who else made these statements? President Trump did, by attempting to denominate Your Affirmant as a convicted liar. Republic members of the House Oversight Committee did during open testimony as well, with the two most aggressive being Congressman Jim Jordan, and Congressman Mark Meadows.”

“Bird of a feather…” the letter trails off.

If the judge sides with Cohen, he could walk free from his Oti💛sville, New♍ York cell as early as May.

Pauley has yet to rule.
