The rich will get richer — by simply contacting the New York state comptroller’s office.
There’💦s 🅺unclaimed money awaiting President Trump, Jeff Bezos, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Eliot Spitzer and billionaire Mike Bloomberg’s firm, according to records from Comptroller Tom DiNapoli’s office.
Jay Z, Madonna and Robert DeNiro also are due some dough, accoꦦrding to the documents, reviewed by The P☂ost.
The outstanding funds mos🌠tly involve old banওk accounts, uncashed checks, utility deposits, stocks and insurance money that firms and the government are required to report to the comptroller if they’re not claimed by the payee.
Under New York law, the dollar amounts are kept confidential. Only the payees can find out what is owed them w🀅hen they a🌌pply to retrieve the money, which they here.
But a source said the amounts are typically small. DiNapoli’s office oversees $16 billion in unclaimed funds in 40 million different accounts, which comes out to an average of $400𝔉. He has returned $4.36 million in unclaimed funds to payees this year.
Records show that Pay Pal owes Donald Trump, in a I-Owe-You addressed to him at his Trump Tower 725 Fifth Ave. address, for “un🤡delivered goods/services.” The debt to Trump w🌃as posted last year.
Dozeℱns of Trump-tied businesses are also listed as being owed funds.
For example, the comptroller’s office has an “uncashed chec꧃k” from New York state for the Trump Golf🤪 Club Member Corp. posted in 2019.
The Trump Organization also is owed funds from the Ferguson Enterprises plumbing-supply firm for “undelivered goods and services’’ recorded in 2019.
The White House and the Trump Orga🅰nization declined comment.
Bezos, the Amazon mogul who is on꧅e of the world’s richest people, has an uncashed check🔯 waiting for him with the state Tax Department from 2018.
Former President Bill Clinton is owed compensation from Entertainment Partners, reported in 2018, and from a pre-paid Bank America Ca꧋rd in 201🧸2.
Jay Z, under his legal name Shawn Carter, also is owe𓂃d funds from Ente🥂rtainment Partners.
Hillary Clinton has money from an unredeemed giಌft certificate at Bergdorf Goodman, reported in 2017.
Madonna – under her name Madonna Ciccone — is owed a check from gaming company Screenlife LLC, posted in 2016. She appears in its music game “Scene It.”
There are nine different listin𓄧gs of funds waiting for actor Robert DeNiro, including for an outstanding check from Warner Brother Studio and the state of California.
There are also a dozen listings for Bloomberg’s company, Bloomberg LP, including for uncashed checks from the sཧtate.
The comptroller’s office said the Trump Organiz൩ation and Bloomberg LP ha🐬ve applied for some of the funds already.
Meanwhile, former “Luv Guv” Spitzer’s real-estate firm, Spitzer Engineering, also has some change on the table, including for an unredeemed gift certificate, re🌱cords sh𝓡ow
Spitzer declined comment.
Unclaimed funds are common with political candidates’ current or old ಌcampaign accꦜounts.
National Grid reported owing an old Mike Bloomberg for Mayor campaign account for undelivered services to a Staten Island campaign office. Bloomberg, now a presidential candidate, was New York City’s mayor from 2002 to 2013.
Some current New York pols have money outstanding, The Albany list includes Govꦗ. Andrew Cuomo and his campaign committee, former Gov. David Paterson and state Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, who has mo🍒ney waiting for him from Wyndham hotel.
The largest claim ever paid by the comptroller was $5.2 million to an individual for a sꦛtock claim, and the biggest current outstanding claim is more than $8 million for an estate.
