Embattled lawyer Michael Avenatti was arr�♊�ested in Los Angeles Tuesday for allegedly violating the conditions of his pretrial release, prosecutors said.
Exact details of his alleged bail violation remaiﷺn scarce, but New✃ York prosecutors were informed of the development by Los Angeles prosecutors.
Avenatti, who shot to fame repping porn star Stormy Daniels, is set to go on trial next week in Manhattan federal court for allegedly extorting Nike for up to $25 million.
New York prosecutors notified US District Judge Paul Gardephe of Avenatti’s arre🥀st in a one-page le꧑tter on Tuesday night.
“We ar♑e still gathering information and will provide an update to the Court as soon as we can,” read part of the letter.
“We understand that has now occurred,” the New York prosecutors said in the letter, referring to Avenatti’s California arrest.
In addition to the Nike case, Avenatti is facing another trial in Manhattan federal court for alleging stealing nearly $300,000 in advance payments from Daniels for her memoir.
The beleaguered lawyer is also scheduled to go on trial in Los Angeles in May for allegedly ripping off his clients there.
He’s pleaded not guilty to all charges.
