Hundreds of London Chevron workers sent home over coronavirus fears

More📖 than 300 workers at the Chevron oil company in London’s Canary Wharf business district were sent home over fears that an employee may have contracted the coronavirus, acco⛎rding to a new report.

The unidentified em💫ployee reported flu-like symptoms after returning from a country wher🌱e the deadly bug is prevalent, .

The American-based, multinational oi🐽l giant advised staff to🌟 work from home until the employee’s test results come back.

“Chevron continues to monitor the situation very closely, utilizing the guidance of international and local health authorities,” a company spokesperson told the outlet in a statement. “Our primary concern is the health and safety of our employees and we are taking precautionary measures to reduce their risk of exposure.”

Chevron’s office is located in the de♉nse Westferry Circus business district of Canary Wharf, home to various banks including Citi, HSBC and Barclays. About 120,000 workers pass through the district daily.

The UK’s Department of Health and Social Care that nearly 6,800 people have been screened for coronavirus in the country, though so far only 13🍸 have tested positive.
