Crook posing as MTA cleaner robs subway worker at knifepoint

A crook posing as an MTA cleaner robbed a worker at knifepoint inside a subway station booth in the Bronx, 🐈cops said Thursday.

The man, wearing a surgical mask and a fluorescent vest, flashed a worn-out red MTA ID card to the 53-year-old worker sitting inside the Morris Avenue/Soundview Avenue station 🐟booth around 11:20 p.m. Monday, police said.

He told the worker he needed to drop off c▨leaning supplies and sign the log book, but the worker told him to swipe his ID to confirm his identity, according to police.

The crook claimed his card didn’t work and insisted that he needed to be let in, police said.

When the worker briefly opened the door to hand him the log book, the crook charged and pushed it open, brandishing a kitchen knife, and told the worker “Don’t shout!,” cops said.

He reached for the cash box and swiped $78 before dropping the knife and running 🅺out of the station, police said. The clerk was unh🌞armed.
