Even fears about the potentially deadly coronavirus couldn’t 𝕴stop a small crowd of people from gatherin🌼g around a dead man who had jumped from the Throgs Neck Bridge on Friday.
Police removed the body fro🎐m the waters at Little Bay Park at around 1 p.m. and put it in a body bag on the grass near a 🍌bike path at the green space.
The unidentified man had ju🤡mped off the Throgs Neck Bridge shortly after noon, cops said.
As officers blocked𒐪 off the surrounding area with yellow police tape, bystanders in the park gawked and took cell phone pictures of the scenꩲe.
“This is a huge thing to happen here,” said one park-goer who would only identify herself as Salena P., 23. “There are a lot of questions and everyone is wo𒐪ndering what is goi𒉰ng on.”
While people stopped to c꧒ongregate, one woman griped how it’s🍷 tough to keep social distances in the Big Apple.
“New York is th💜e worst to stay apart. This is crazy,” she said.
State and city officials have been calling for folks to maint𒐪ain a dista൩nce of at least six feet while out in public amid the virus outbreak.
