4 murders took place in NYC in less than 12 hours

A 20-yea🌄r-old man was shot in the head and killed in the incident, which sources suspect may have been drug-🉐related.

The bloodshed continued a few hours later in the Bronx when a man was knifed to death less than a block from the 47th Precinct stationhouse on Laconia Avenue in the Edenwald section at about 8 p.m., police said.
The victim, identified by sources as 37-year-old Charles Ampofo, allegedly got into an argument with the suspect, 51-year-old Curtis Clay, over “disrespect,” sources said.
Clay allegedly stabbed Ampofo several times in the head and chest and tried to ꦦdrive off before cops busted him, according to police sources. Charges aga🧔inst him were pending.

Hours later in the Country Club neighborhood of the Bronx, police responded to a 911 call at an apartment on Bayview Avenue near Griswold Avenue at about 2:45 a.m. and found a man beaten to death, cops said.
Investigators believe a baseball bat-wielding intruder killed the unidentified 32-year-old, police said. No arrests have been made.
The final slaying was logged in Brooklyn Wednesday morning, when police conducting a wellness check found a 57-year-old man stabbed to death in his home on 84th Street near 14th Avenue in Dyker Heights, cops said.
Investigators believe the victim’s son may have knifed him to death, but a motive is unclear.
The slayings continue an upward trend in murders citywide in recent weeks compared to the same period last year.
There were 10 reported killings between April 5 and 12 across the city in 2020 –– compared to only four slayings in the period last year, a 150 percent increase, according to NYPD statistics.
Last week there were three murders in a 24-hour period –– breaking a calm streak in the city that saw only eight murders in the three weeks prior.
