Ray Allen on feud with ex-Celtics teammate Kevin Garnett: ‘This is him’

Almost a decade later, th🅺e Boston Celtics’ “Big 3” still has some big beef.

With Kevin Garnett back in the news — he teamed with Paul Pierce and Ray Allen to break a 21-year Celtics title drought in 2008 —with his election to the Basketball Hall of Fame and his No. 5 jersey set to be retired in Boston next seasꦍon, the wounds from Allen’s departure have been revealed to be as fresh as ever.

It’s a one-way feud, according to Allen, who took his talents to M꧋iami in 2012, ending the Celtics Big 3’s run, a move that has 👍long ruffled Garnett.

“I never had any ill will towards Kevin,” Allen, 44, said on “” on Tuesday. “This is not a♏ two-way argument or debate. This is him. He dug his heels in the sand and he decided I’m not a brother of his anymore and so I said, ‘Cool.’”’

Garnett wasn’t the only one feeling ill will toward Allen, whose acrimonious uncoupling in Bost💟on came after 🎃the Celtics tried to trade him multiple times. Allen, to this day, doesn’t feel welcomed by fans in the city.

“It’s 2020. You’re talking about nine years now, and I’ve gotten so much hate, death threats, vitriol from Bost🧔on fans,” he said. “I’ve moved on, and I’m not going to go anywhere where I’m not wanted. And I do believe that sentiment has been relayed quite often on social media and on so many different outlets.”

And it’s hard not to feel those negative emotions again, with Garnett discu🐠ssing his long-𒊎held grudges in various outlets. For Allen, who won a second NBA title with LeBron James & Co. in𒈔 Miami, the bitterness with ⛄his former teammates probably won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.

“These guys kind of removed me from the ‘Big💎 3,’ said so many negative things abo𒆙ut me and I haven’t had one negative thing to say about any of them,” he said. “It would take Kevin and I to have a conversation moving forward.”
