Trump blasts Dems’ coronavirus ‘witch hunt’ in campaign email

President Trump is lobbing fresh charges of a “witch hunt” against Congressional Democrats  — this time, over his coronavirus response.

“They are trying to weaponize a new coronavirus committee against me,” Trump wrote in a Saturday campaign email to supporters that asked for contributions for a new “Presidential defense fund.”

The House Oversight Committee voted Friday to establish the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis, which will scrutinize the distribution of relief funds and examine the administration’s response to the pandemic.

House Republicans condemned the move as a political ploy — and Trump agreed.

“This is the third WITCH HUNT in THREE YEARS,” he fumed in the email, listing the “Russian collusion delusion” and the “impeachment hoax” as prior efforts to derail his presidency.

Democrats “are going to use this new ‘investigative committee’ to smear me and my Administration with partisan attacks right before the 2020 Election,” he warned.

He used similar rhetoric during his imp𝄹eachment trial to fuel a massive fundraising haul, as his campaign in the fir𝔉st quarter of this year.
