Manhattan DA charges Amy Cooper over viral Central Park 911 call

Notorious Central Park ‘Karen’ Amy Cooper — who touched off a firestorm when she called the cops on a black birdwatcher who asked her to keep her dog on a leash — was arrested Monday on a charge that could send her to jail for up to one year.

Cooper, 41, s𒊎urrendered to the Manhattan DA’s office Monday and was hit with one count of falsely reporting an incident in the third degree. She was issued a desk appearance ticket and ordered to return to court Oct. 14 for her arrai꧟gnment.

“Today our office initiated a prosecution of Amy C🅰ooper,” said DA Cyrus Vance Jr. in a statement.

“Our office will provide the public with additional information as the case proce✱eds. At this time I would like to encourage anyone who has been the target of false reporting to co♊ntact our office. We are strongly committed to holding perpetrators of this conduct accountable.”

In a now-viral May video that sparked international outrage, Cooper, a white woman, can be seen telling birdwatcher Chrisඣtian Cooper she is going to call the cops anꦜd “tell them there’s an African American man threatening my life.”

“Please tell them whatever you like,” Christianꦐ, who is noꦿ relation, responds.

Amy Cooper then pulls down her mask and says into the phone: “I’m in the Ramb𓆉le and an African American man with a b🎐icycle helmet, he is recording me and threatening my dog.”

She pauses before repeatiꦛng: “There is an African American man. I am in Centꦅral Park. He is recording me and threatening myself and my dog.”

After another pause, she appears suddenly shaken up as she cries: “I’m sorry, I can’t hear … I’m being threatened by a man in the Ramble, please send the cops immediately.”

Christian Cooper’s 💛sister posted🍨 the now-infamous video to Twitter.

Amy Cooper — who later apologized for the incident — was fired from her job at the investment 🍎firm Franklin Templeton.

Mayor Bill de Blasio called it “racism, plain andౠ simple.”
