‘Potential superspreader’ Hoboken SantaCon is canceled

Hoboken’s booze-fueled SantaCon just got cut off.

Officials in the New Jersey city put the kibosh on the infamo📖us raucous event this year — labeling it a “potential superspreader’’ of COVID-19.

“Our sole goal as mayor and police chief is to keep Hoboken residents safe, and an unsanctioned, crowded bar crawl would have presented substantial challenges related✤ to the pandemic,” said Mayor Ravi Bhalla and Police Chief Kenneth Ferrante in a joint statement,

“We are glad to share that SantaCon has officially been canceled by the event organizers, which will help protect Hoboken residents from a potential superspreader▨ type event,’’ the pair add📖ed.

New York City’s similar annual Christmas pub crawl featuring thousands of Santa Claus-clad was already canceled.

T𒈔he Hoboken event is as just as notorious as New York’s for its rowdiness.

In 2018, four cops in Hoboken landed in the hospital amid the chaos.
