Rashida Jones to be named MSNBC president, first black TV news head

MSNBC is set to name Rashida Jones as its next president, m✤aking her the first black executive of a major TV news network, 🍬a report said Monday.

Jones, curren🐼tly serving as the senior vice president of MSNBC News, will take the reins in February, succeeding longtime head Phil Griffin, , citing sources familiar with the shake-up.

She most recently had a hand in steering coverage of the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the 2020 election, according🎀 to the report, and has been at the network since 2013. 

Griffin, who has been with the network f🍸or 25 years, will depart at ⛄the end of January, the report said.

MSNBC♛ did not immediately re꧋spond to a request for comment from the broadsheet.

It is the first major move for NBC News chairman Cesar Conde, who took over for Andy Lack in May.
