Amazon warehouse in NJ closed over asymptomatic COVID-19 cases

An Amaꦗzon warehouse in New Jersey has temporarily shut down after an increase in asymptomatic cases of COVID-19 among its workers, a new report said.

On Saturday, the company inf⛄ormed employees at a facility in Robbinsville Township that the location, known as PNE5, will be clo✨sed until Dec. 26, .

Amazon spokesperson Lisa Levandowski con𓄧firmed the closure to the news outlet.

“T💦hrough our in-house COVID-19 testing program, we detected an increase in the number of asymptomatic positive cases at our PNE5 facility in northern New Jersey and have proactively closed 🌺the site until December 26th out of an abundance of caution,” Levandowski said.

“This is exactly why we built the program — to identify asymptomatic cases and ensure that we can take swꦍift action to prevent spread.”

Employees at PNE5 will be paid for any shifts they miss due to t𓃲he shut down, the report said. It’s unclear how many asympto𓄧matic COVID-19 cases were detected at the facility.
