Blake Snell cracks up at savage Wendy’s tweet mocking Rays

The Tampa Bay Rays asked for it.

The shrewd social media team at Wendy’s was soliciting responses on Twitter for #NationalRoastDay and the Rays replied, writing, “Go ahead, Wendy’s. Absolutely roast us. Keep it spicy like your nuggs.”

Naturally, Wendy’s went after the Rays for pulling Blake Snell in the sixth inning of Game 6 in the 2020 World Se🦂ries despite the fact🗹 Snell was on a roll.

“We’re surprised you didn’t pull your social media manager in middle of writing that great tweet,” Wendy’s wrote to the Rays.

The savage putdown caught the attention of the 28-year-old Snell, whom the Rays traded to the San Diego Padres in late December.

“Yoooo 👀😂,” Snell wrote in a quote-tweet of Wendy’s.

The Rays, who held a 1-0 lead when Snell was pulled, ended up losing the World Series-deciding Game 6, 3-1, to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

“I was lost,” Snell told last month of how he felt being removed from the game. “I honestly was lost. Even in the (postgame) interview, I looked at it and was like, ‘Man, I was so checked out after I got pulled.’ I didn’t know what to say, what to do. I just remember I called my dad when I got to the hotel, we talked for a minute, and I didn’t really say much. … I was like, we really just handed them the World Series.”
