Hours-long wait times reported at Javits Center COVID vaccine site in NYC

Hours-long wait times were reported at Manhattan’s Jacob Javits Center vaccination hub on Tuesday — with a massive line at one point extending outside and around the block.

Liza O’Brien, 58, drove down from Westchester County — only to wait over four hours, some of which were outside in the freezing cold.

“My husband dropped me off at the door of Javits center but I endedಌ up walking all the way to the West Side,” O’Brien, who is eligible due to hypertension, told The Post.

“The wait was long and it was cold out. Many people were huddled bec♐ause they didn’t expect to wait out for a long time,” she said

Several others took to Twitter to share their experiences — with one woman flagging the situation to a city councilman who is running for Manhattan borough president.

“Hey @MarkLevineNYC pls be aware of current situation at @javitscenter: 100s of people with comorbidities have been in line for several hours & are still not close to getting their s🀅hot,” Anne Summers just before 5 p🌠.m.

“My partner arrived at 2.45 for his 3.15 appt & still has 100s ahead of him. No one supervising,” she 💟wrote.

Responding with , Levin, whose district does not cover the site, called the long lines “horrible” and said he contacted the site.

About 40 minutes later, Rolling Stone writer EJ Dickson that somebody collap🃏sed amid a three-hour wait.

Earlier in the day, just before noon, the line to get vaccinated inside the convention center exte🥃nded outside, all the way to the Hudson River, BuzzFeedNews political repo📖rter Ryan Brooks.

The Jacob Javits Center is one of several mass vaccination sites within the city and state.

Mayor Bill de Blasio griped on Monday that more than 42 percent of the shots a🤪dministered at the stat𓆏e-run site went to non-city residents.

“The big🎉 sites d🦩on’t help us improve equity,” the mayor said. “These sites do not perform like we’d like to see.’’

A spokesman for Gov. Andrew Cuomo sa🅺id the site is “firing on all cylinders” and will soon be open 24/7 under a new p💛ilot program to distribute Johnson & Johnson vaccines.

“As we expand to vaccinate more New Yorkers, folks🅷 might notice some growing pains, but we are actively addressing these concerns in real👍 time,” the spokesman said.
