Why ‘RHONJ’s’ Teresa Giudice needed to sell NJ house built with Joe

“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice is opening up about her decision to sell her longtime Montville, New Jersey, home.

The reality star, 48, revealed on the show’s March 3 episode that the home she spent nearly 20 years in was becoming too much to bear.

♎Teresa initially purchased the home with her ex-husband, Joe Giudice, in 2002 for $530,000.

“It’s hard for me to sell the house,” she revealed on camera in a confessional. “[My ex-husband] Joe and I built the house together; we raised our four daughters in that home.”

“I am ready for a new beginning,” she added. “I’m looking for a fresh start.”

Two months before the home hit the market, Teresa brought in interior designer Jimmy DeLaurentis to completely change up the home’s decor.

“She was like, ‘My house needs a lot of work, it’s dark, it’s filled with old Italian stuff; Joe is gone,'” DeLaurentis at the time. “She was just like, ‘I need to feel lighter in this house.’ It’s a huge house, everything was doom and gloom and dark, and she had memories of a lot of stuff and she just wanted to brighten it up.”
