US anti-Semitic incidents surge amid Israel-Hamas conflict: ADL

Anti-Semitic incidents surged across the US and online during the deadly fightin💙g between Israel and Hamas terrorists, according to the Anti-Defamation League.

The Jewish nonprofit said its Center on Extremism during th𒀰e week after combat began on May 10, up from 131 the week before.

Examples cited by the ADL included online videos that appear to show at least one Jewish person being beaten in Los Angeles, as well as others being intimidated by people in cars waving Palestinian flags.

The count also appears to include Thursday’s violent clashes between pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian demonstrators in Manhattan’s Diamond District.

Meanwhile, variations of the phrase “Hitler was right” were posted on Twitter more than 17,000 times between May 7 and May 14, and similar messages were found on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, the ADL said.

Some posts reportedly said, “GAS THE KIKES RACE WAR NOW.”

There have also been “some expressions of clear antisemitism” at protest rallies, including signs that made analogies to the Nazi Holocaust and blamed Jews for the crucifixion of Jesus, the ADL said.

“We are tracking acts of harassment, vandalism and violence as well as a torrent of online abuse,” ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said.

“It’s happening around the world — from London to Los Angeles, from France to Florida, in big cities like New York and in small towns, and across every social media platform.”

The ADL’s preliminary data was released Thursday, shortly before a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas went into effect early Friday.
