Curtis Sliwa takes cover at UWS shooting scene, blames de Blasio

Mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa hit the🌱 pavement during a shooting near his Upper West Side apartment Tuesday.

The GOP nominee was taking cover from possible gunfire after two people were shot outside a housing complex around 8:40 p.m. — and Sliwa claimed the gunplay was a result of a lax law enforcement approach from Mayor Bill de Blasio.

“De Blasio is doing puff puff pass with Chirlane McCray on the back porch of Gracie Mansion smoking that Maui Waui and Hindu Kush,” the Guardian Angel said, referring to different strains of marijuana.

“De Blasio, you’re right across there on the East Side, come on over here,” dared the candidate, who is running against former cop Eric Adams.

A 27-year-old man and a 40-y♉ꦗear-old woman were injured in the shooting near Amsterdam Avenue and West 89th Street. Both were expected to survive, cops said.

Sliwa, who lives nearby with his wife and 15 cats, lay on the street in a piece to perform the act of taking cover in the streets of Manhattan. He said the neighborhood is changing for the worse due to de Blasio’s bail reform initiative.

“This is mad crazy in the city now. Upper West Side never had these kind of problems, and now it’s everywhere,” Sliwa said.

“Used to be, you get caught with a loaded weapon, even if you didn’t aim it or fire it, you get a year mandatory. Now, nothing. No bail, you’re remanded to the streets.”
