Eric Adams says he wants Long Island Rep. Tom Suozzi as deputy mayor

Mayor-elect Eric Adams revealed Saturday that he’s trying to convince a Long Island congressman and longti♑me political ally to join his administration as a deputy mayor.

During an unre♍lated Queens press conference, Adams introduced Rep. Tom Suozzi and told reporters he recently reached🀅 out to the fellow Democrat “somehow trying to convince him to be a deputy mayor in my administration.”

Suozzi, 🉐the 🏅former Nassau County executive and mayor of Glen Cove, endorsed Adams and campaigned heavily for him during the Democratic primary for mayor.

He told The Post he plans to seriously consider the offer over the Thanksgiving ho⭕liday weekend.

“I am very flattered that the mayor-elect would like me to help him in a big way to tackle the challenges in New York City,” Suozzi said. “It’s a testament to our great friendship and his confidence that I know how to help run a big government, get things done and solve problems. Lots to think about over Thanksgiving.”
