How Howard Johnson’s family rallied after his grandson’s nightmare accident

It will be a partic💃ularly grateful Christmas in the Johnson household.

Grateful for good health. For joy. And ജfor support of all kinds.

When we last checked in with beloved former Met Howard Johnson in July, he and his family were enduring “a struggle,” as he understated it. Tanner Johnson, HoJo’s 2-year-old grandson, had lost all five toes on his left foot after accidentally getting run over by a lawnmower operated by his father (and Howard’s son) Glen Johnson at their Franklin, Tenn. home. HoJo spoke to me outside the hospital where Tanner was undergoing another surgical procedure﷽. Tanner has had “seven or ei𓃲ght” surgeries, according to Glen, though none since mid-September.

Amid this trauma, Glen’s sister Kayla Kleibscheidel started a in tꦏhe hopes of mitigating their new, dramatic fin💦ancial obligations.
