Another bad jobs report shows the obvious: Bidenomics is a total disaster.
President Joe Biden knows it, too, even though he cheered ꦓFriday’s jobs report — before accusing Republicans of being concerned about high inflation only because they want people to be too poor to afford cars.
The Labor Department reported that the United States added just 199,000 jobs in🎀 December. That’s the worst of the year, with the fewest jobs added since the president took office and significantly less than half the 422,000 jobs economists expected.
Yes, the unemployment rate fell to 3.9%, down from 4.2%, but that’s because the rate doesn’t count people who’ve given up.
This follows a disappointing November report, which also failed to meet expectations. In fact, four out of the last five months saw fewer jobs added than had been proje⛄ctedꦇ.
Yet Biden touted the jobs report as a “historic day for our economic recovery,” bragging that the US economy has added a total of 6.4 million j🧸obs over the last 12 months. And while he said inflation is “still a concern,” he argued the “American Rescue Plan” and his administration’s other economic policies are💝 driving a strong rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Today, America is the only leading 🔯economy in the world where the economy as a who🌳le is stronger than before the pandemic,” he said.
Sorry, but 3.6 million Americans lost their jobs thanks to the pandemic and have yet to get them back. And it’s that $2 trillion “rescue plan” — passed unilaterally by Democrats at a time when the last thing the already-recovering economy needed was a “rescue” — that has fueled inflation.
Worse, it seems Biden, unlike the Republicans he denounced, is itching to do even more economic damage: The same day the jobs report came out, his law🤡yers were before the Supreme Court arguing for his vaccine mandate on employers — which would force them to lay off workers who refuse the jab and require them to waste res🃏ources on enforcement.
Biden’s bid to spin away his awful showing on jobs can’t change reality. Or the minds of any Americans who are still working but shop at supermarkets or fill their cars with gasoline.
