24 patients hospitalized after fire at Rhode Island rehab center

At🍌 least two dozen patients at a Rhode Island respiratory rehabilitation center we🌳re hospitalized Thursday night after a fire broke out at the facility, reports said.

The blaze s▨tarted on the third floor of Genesis Respiratory and Rehabilitation Center in Coventry at about 9 p.m. and was confined to one room, , citing fire officials.

The facility’s sprinkler system helped extinguish the flames, but smoke still spread throug♚hout the whole building, the report said.

Twenty-four patients were treated at lo🌜cal hospitals and others in the facility, which houses 100 people, were forced to relocate due to damage, Coventry Fire Chief Frank Brown .

Amb✅ulances from at least four separate departments responded tꦿo the scene.

The cause of the fire was being investigated.
