Lady Gaga in talks to star opposite Joaquin Phoenix in ‘Joker’ musical sequel

Lꦑady Gaga 🐟will be making an appearance on the big screen once again.

The 36-year-old Oscar winner is in early talks to star oppo🎶site Joaquin Phoenix in a sequel to “J⭕oker.”

Last week, director Todd Phillips, 51, revealed the script and the title of the project, “Joker: Folie à deux,” on . 

Even though Phillips shared a photo of Phoenix, 47, reading the script, he has not yet signed a deal for the seque♐l.

Details of the plot are not yet known, but reports that the “Bad Romance” singer will play Harley Quinn, the Joker’s psychiꩵatrist at Ark🌱ham Asylum who falls in love with him and becomes his sidekick. It’s believed that Gaga’s Harley Quinn will exist in a different DC universe from Margot Robbie’s in the “Suicide Squad” movies.

The sequel is set to have many differences from the first film, ꧑including that it will be a musical, according to .

“Joker,” released in 2019, had a record-breaking opening weekend and grossed more than $1 billion worldwide. At the end of its time in theaters, it was the fourth highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time. Joaquin Phoenix won Best Actor at the Oscars for his role in the film, and Hildur Guðnadóttir took home the Oscar for composing the flick’s original score.

Lady Gaga stunned audiences with her acting abilities as the lead in “A Star is Born,” which was produced by “Joker” director Phillips, and most recently co-starred in “House of Gucci.” She also wrote the song “Hold my Hand” for “Top Gun: Maverick.”
