Prince Harry now suing Scotland Yard in ongoing row over his security in UK
Prince Harry is suing British police for refusing to during his rare tripsꦚ💮 home to the UK.
The exiled royal, who is already suing the UK’s Home Office over his security, filed a second lawsuit in London’s High Court naming the capital’s Metropolitan Police based in Scotland Yard, .
Harry’s lawsuits both maintain that he should still be able to pay for special police protection even after he quit life as a senior royal and settled with ex-actress wife Meghan Markle in California.
Harry’s lawyers have said the prince is reluctant to bring the couple’s children — Archie, 3, and 1-year-old Lilibet — to his homeland without the type of security he previously enjoyed.
The prince wants to be a𝕴ble to pay for the protection, saying his private security team in the US doesn’t have adequ🐲ate jurisdiction abroad or access to UK intelligence information.
The first lawsuit has a💦lready cost taxpayers at least $120,000, according to multiple UK reports.
A former head of royal protection at the force Harry is now suing ripped the latest lawsuit as “nonsensical” and “insulting,” .
“For a man who allegedly wants to protect his privacy he goes about a funny way of achieving it,” the ex-chief superintendent reportedly said.
“I believe this is personal. Rather than seek a workable solution, he has taken this route which is fraught with issues. It’s insulting.”
