Christian Yelich dedicates Brewers win to man friend-zoned on jumbotron

Christian Yelich revealed that the Brewers were competing🏅 for a cause on Monday night.

The Brewers were down 5-3 to the Pirates in the eighth inning, before tying the game on the first career ho♉me run by rookie outfielder Garr𝓀ett Mitchell. In the ninth, they ultimately won on a walk-off homer by Keston Hiura.

Barstool Sports shared a photo of the video board at American Family Field. Included among perfunctory happy birthday and anniversary messages was an unsigned note: “Mark – your friendship means the world to me – let’s not wreck it.”

“Mark down absolutely tremendous,” the main account for Barstool . “Friend zoned in front of the entire stadium.”

Quote-tweeting this, Yelich , “Down 2 in the 8th inning, the dugout looked up, saw this, and said ‘let’s win one for Mark’. We got you man.”

For his part, Yelich might be starting t🔜o heat up at the plate. In the last three games, he is 8-for-15 with two home runs and five RBIs. Yelich won the NL MVP in 2018 and finished second for the a꧟ward in 2019.

However, late in 2019 he had a freak injury after fouling a ball off his leg, and since then his OPS has been about 300 points lower than i🧸t was in his two MVP-caliber years.
